Facebook Connect
We give you the option of linking your account with us to your Facebook account through Facebook's "Facebook Connect" API. This allows us to import much of your profile information, as well as your profile photo, greatly reducing the time it takes to create and update your profile here. It's very important to know that we DO NOT and WILL NOT EVER post anything to your Facebook page. We are only importing your data to make things easy for you. That's it. Do you do background checks on your users? How do I know it's safe?
Unfortunately, we are not able to conduct background checks on our users. Just like any other way in which you meet someone, you should take steps to protect yourself.
Your first date should always be in public, at a place with other people.
Use your instincts the same way you would if you met the person on any other online site or forum or even at a bar - be careful, don't move too fast, and if you suspect something is amiss, end the date.
As well, please use the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page to report any harassment by a user whether on or off the site. If it happens off the site, you should also contact your local police to report the incident.
In short, be smart, be aware, and be safe.

What if I want to hide my account (because I think I've met someone that I want a serious relationship with or otherwise) or delete it altogether?
Just go to the My Account page and select the appropriate option.
What are the "subsites"?
Think of CanoodleOnline.com as the master ship. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join it. But we also are creating "subsites' for ethnic and religious groups, such as JewCanoodle.com. The subsites are meant ONLY for the people who fit the description.
When you join CanoodleOnline.com or any subsite, you have two options.
1) You can "wall" yourself within that community. So if you join JewCanoodle.com and are very serious about Judaism and won't even consider for a second dating a non-Jew, you would restrict yourself to the JewCanoodle.com community and not allow anyone from the CanoodleOnline.com "main" community to see or contact you (and vice versa).
2) You can opt to join a subsite, but still allow anyone that is a member of the main CanoodleOnline.com community to view and contact you - and you them. It's a more open approach to maximizing your chances. When they view your profile, you will be labeled as a member of your subsite - sort of a "badge of honor".
You can always just stick to the main CanoodleOnline.com site, not join any subsite, and limit your searches to particular groups of people. The only difference is you won't see people that are "walled in" on a subsite. But you could still search for only Jewish members. The decision is entirely yours.
But what is great about this feature is it effectively lets you join two sites at once - with one login and one profile to maintain, all for the same low, low price of NOTHING!
What is AccuPic(TM) and how do I use it?
The CanoodleOnline automated system tries to guess when you and another Canoodler have gone on a date. You both let us know if we are right or wrong. Eventually, and hopefully, we get it right and you both tell us that yes, in fact, you have been on a date. Great! Next, we "unlock" the AccuPic feature for you on the profile of the Canoodler you went out with. All we ask is that you rate EACH picture they have posted on a scale of 1 to 10 relative to how much they resembled that picture in real life. Please don't rate them based on attractiveness or how good the date was - just accuracy. Once we've compiled enough information on a user, their AccuPic score for each picture will be shown along with an averaged "AccuPic Trust Rating". Users who get low AccuPic ratings are encouraged to delete those pictures and upload new ones that will get better ratings. Because we don't display the ratings until several Canoodlers have rated the pictures, you can rest assured that nobody will know what ratings you gave them. It's completely anonymous!! By having this feature, we hope to encourage users to post their most accurate pictures - avoiding those "surprises" any experienced online dater has had.
